Hello! I am Howard, a twenty-year-old multimedia art student at Malayan Colleges Laguna. After trying a bunch of things before, video production is what took me here. I started to get into art when I was in high school. Right when I entered my first year, I already became jealous of my classmates’ talents. Many of them excel in art and music, while others were exceptional at dancing. I wasn’t interested in art and music at that time, but I was competitive. Before I entered high school, I have never considered exploring other things outside academics. And so, trying out new experiences felt weird to me.
After a month in high school, I shoot my shot. I was hesitant because I was grade conscious, and I thought trying out new things will affect my grades. But I started exploring anyway. I tried playing guitar, solve a Rubik’s cube, draw portraits, and take photographs. It was a fun experience and has a liberating feel to it. But I wasn’t satisfied. Not until TV broadcasting came. It is a competition in high school about performing a newscast with a lot of participating schools. Its got three levels; division, regional, and national. And right before I graduated high school, I won 2nd place in the National Schools Press Conference in TV broadcasting category. Receiving the trophies and medals with my team was the moment where I got hooked in video production.
Unlike most famous video producers, making videos wasn’t my passion right from the start. It took me a while to even start exploring other skills. But despite not having the ideal background story, the stories I will make are what's going to be ideal. My journey has just begun, and this story is just a glimpse of someone behind the camera.
